Pine Valley Senior Lodge

Collaborating with Kumlin Sullivan Architecture and Scott Builders, our team embarked on an exciting venture to create a stunning retirement complex in Hinton, Alberta. Our primary objective was to redefine the concept of retirement living, infusing it with a fresh perspective that combined elements of hospitality within the healthcare framework. We placed a significant emphasis on fostering a strong sense of community and providing top-notch amenities.

Drawing inspiration from Hinton’s unique location and rich background, our design decisions were thoughtfully influenced by the area’s local industries and the breathtaking vistas of the Rocky Mountains. This inspiration guided us in curating a material palette that celebrated Alberta’s industrial heritage, prominently featuring elements such as lumber, stone, and ironwork. The site itself offered picturesque views, which we cleverly integrated into the design through strategically placed breakout seating areas. For areas without windows, we placed beautiful artwork from local artists to enhance the overall ambiance.

The result of our efforts is a facility that exceeds expectations, not only as a residence and support center for its occupants but also as a vibrant destination for families and the wider community to enjoy. Our diverse range of amenities includes a cozy coffee shop, a welcoming pub, a stylish beauty salon, a tranquil fitness studio, a thriving community greenhouse, a tranquil library, an engaging games room, craft room, as well as both indoor and outdoor living spaces. Additionally, we’ve provided outdoor games courts and skating rinks for recreational enjoyment. As one ventures further into the facility, the transition from public to private spaces is seamless, with residential rooms designed to accommodate varying abilities.
